The next PHI medical mission trip to Ben Tre Province, Vietnam is scheduled for early-November of 2010. Twelve (12) medical specialists have already confirmed their plans to join Dr. Xuan Mai Ta, founder of Project Health International, to visit with more than 2,000 patients during their five-day stay. In conjunction with this trip, eye care examinations and eye glasses will be distributed free-of-charge to the patients seen during this time.

However, we need your help to make this medical mission trip happen. We are currently in the process of trying to raise $15,000 or more to purchase specialized medical equipment (optical examination equipment and related items) and eye glasses that will be distributed as a part of this mission.

Your donations large or small really make a difference in helping us achieve this goal. You can make an online donation right now using the DONATE button on this page or you can mail us your donation at the address shown on the donation page.

Thank you in advance for your generous support of our cause!!

Thanks to the wonderful support of the more than 200 attendees and the many other donors who supported the event, the recent PHI™ fundraising dinner was a huge success. More than $30,000 was raised for the next medical mission trip to Ben Tre province!!

The dinner was held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at The Great Mandarin Restaurant in Eden Prairie, MN where, along with an authentic Vietnamese buffet, there was a silent auction, a raffle, live entertainment and dancing.

In addition, an impromptulive auction also took place that night. Ms. Thu Huong, who won the raffle prize of a 32” HD TV, decided to donate it back PHI™ to have it auctioned off to the highest bidder. Just prior to winning the raffle, she sang a beautiful song entitled “My Wish.” Her wish indeed came true as she was the winner of the evening’s grand prize. And, as a result of her generosity, the gift of this television generated almost $2,000 for the event. Quoc Tu, who was the announcer for the Greenfield Band, instantly became our auctioneer. It was great fun and one of the highlights of the entire evening!

The primary purpose of this event was to familiarize people with the mission and vision of PHI™ (Project Health International) and to raise funds needed to support another medical mission trip to Ben Tre Province, Vietnam, that will take place in November 2010.

The funds raised by this event will be used to purchase specialized medical equipment (optical examination equipment and related items) and eye glasses that will be used for the more than 2,000 patients seen by the medical team made up of 12 medical specialists. In addition, a portion of these funds will be used for travel expenses incurred by team members. As in years past, Dr. Xuan Mai Ta will be leading the team on this medical mission in November.

To learn more about PHI™ or about our upcoming medical mission trip, please contact us by e-mail at: projecthealthinternational@gmail.com or by phone at 952-380-8068.

The husband & wife team of Richard Olson and Cindy Nguyen competed in the Big Sur Marathon at Monterey Bay in central California. They generously volunteered to dedicate the money they raised from their runs to Project Health International, PHI™! More than $800.00 was donated in their names to support PHI.

This was their third year participating in the event and their second year of using their participation to raise sponsorship dollars to help support a non-profit organization.

The work of Project Health International, PHI™ is of particular interest to them since Cindy is of Vietnamese descent and she understands the level of medical need of the people there especially those living in impoverished rural areas of the country.

You can still make a donation in honor of their accomplishment.

To make a pledge, you can contact Richard at richard.k.olson [at] gmail [dot] com, or you can contact Project Health International with any questions.
